Need a Website...

Many simple non-ecommerce sites are very affordable and user friendly to create. Many are free if you are okay with a wonky name. The first Bizzy Buzz site was on Wix, and was only $5 a month, because we paid to not have a wonky name! E-Commerce sites are more expensive, but for a simple e-commerce site that you can also add inventory into a free POS app, Square is great (also sets you up to do shows, as a card reader is about $30 - $50, and the rates are extremely reasonable). Shopify has more options as you grow but is more expensive, $30 a month for a basic e-commerce site.

Social Media...

Facebook requires you to start with a personal Facebook page before you can start a business page, so start there! Instagram seems to get more reach, but is harder to learn. It takes practice. Ask a young whipper snapper for help! Social Media is a great way to increase your Brand presence, but spending a fortune on Marketing here is most likely not going to translate into more online sales. Trust us we've tried it! Focus on your website, farmers markets or craft shows and building your following. We hope this Bizzy Buzz Michigan Artist Directory will help!

Pricing Strategy...

Start low, but be sure to cover your product cost and your labor cost and be sure it is still within the going rate for what people are willing to pay for your product! Don't know what people are willing to pay yet? Do some online research, analyse what friends and family have bought from you so far, do a craft show! If you start too high then you won't know if your product isn't moving because of the price or because of the product itself.

Accounting....

QuickBooks is a great option. Accounting Logix is a great local Accounting company that can help you get your books set up and teach you how to keep them updated, or do the Accounting work for you.
